Upgrowth partnered with BIG W to deliver a modern headless e-commerce platform.

BIG W's ecommerce site and order management software were powered by a legacy monolithic platform. This limited their pace and agility - it tied together changes to customer experience, staff experience and launching new integrations and partners.

Upgrowth re-architected their system decoupling their e-commerce experience from their internal and partner portals allowing them to scale their delivery program and internal teams.

This included updating their SAP Commerce/Hybris implementation to be API driven, creation of a NextJS/React ecommerce application and a headless CMS with AEM

The changing digital security landscape in Australia has increased awareness and demand from customers around account security.

At the same time evolving legislation is driving organisations to ensure they have mature and resilient identity and security solutions.

This involved considering both security requirements alongside customer experience impact ensuring improved controls without a negative commercial  impact to  conversion.

Upgrowth assessed potential technologies and defined a modern solution for customer identity, authentication and authorization.

Upgrowth then executed the implementation based on Auth0. This included fine grained access control across all customer facing services, updating all customer channel authentication flows and a seamless customer migration including transition to MFA.

The heart of e-commerce is product discoverability. BIG W had consistent feedback through 'Voice Of Customer' that search was a key customer pain point.

The existing ecosystem was reliant on a legacy search solution based on SOLR that was inflexible, had no personalisation and did not allow curation for commercial purposes.

Upgrowth proposed Algolia as a solution and worked with stakeholders to assess, design and implement the platform. The final implementation had a refreshed experience and expanded capabilities, offering personalisation, recommendation, business user curation as well as advanced analytics and AI capabilities.
